Who are we?

We are a growing gourmet brand of gum and mints built around fun and unique flavors like our best selling Birthday Cake and Front Porch Lemonade as well as one of a kind offerings like Mint Julep. Our name comes from the fact that daily we're funding 7 different types of giving projects as customers purchase, like hunger, shelter and clean drinking water to name a few. We were awarded the Most Innovative Gum by the Candy Industry in 2014 and are distributed across North America.

Some of our retail partners include but are not limited to; Target, Meijer, HEB, Kroger Ralph's, Caribou Coffee, Jo-Anns, American Airlines and Wegman’s to name a few. All of our products are made in America and are sugar free as well. We are based in sunny downtown San Clemente, California where you can walk to a coffee shop or go to the beach on your lunch break. National Account Manager

Job Description

You are a self starter, enjoy building things and are highly motivated with a strategic vision on how to get things done. You have good organizational skills, and vast experience at bringing new products to market but also managing existing ones. You excel at problem solving, working with brokers, distributors and the end customer and building cross-functional teams.

You are good at motivating people to accomplish shared goals. You thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and like working for a brand that is agile and can make the most of market opportunities. Your superior organizational skills allow you to stay on top of multiple projects at the same time and help manage all things that come with candy planning such as seasonal programs, in and outs, displays and category reviews. You can handle strategic thinking to detailed execution – and solve for your customers needs while helping the brand improve.

A lot about the job

The National Account Manager will work proactively to manage and grow the long-term relationship with both national and regional accounts and sales opportunities with our company. This role will report directly into the President and is expected to support National Accounts by reacting quickly and effectively to customer issues, planning, broker management, new product presentations, establishing relationships, driving sales and by adapting to the changing organization environment within the accounts and at Project 7 as we grow. A National Account Manager is responsible for driving top line revenue across accounts while forecasting and budgeting the effects of promotions, GWP, and COOP on margin.

  • Expand retail merchandising presence across current customers
  • Add new retail partners
  • Manage national network of brokers with HQ account responsibilities
  • Analyze store performance and key category metrics
  • Ensure adoption and promotion of new Project product offerings such as Organic Gummy Bears and Good Squared line of snacks.
  • Negotiate Vendor Agreements
  • Create and execute marketing and sales strategies across distribution channels
  • Analyze and recommend optimal product mix on a per store basis.
  • Travel on sales calls and manage trade shows


Minimum of 3-5 years in consumer packaged goods experience (preferably in the Candy or Snack Channel) is necessary for consideration of this role with Key Account management and Headquarter experience.

Customer Service Manager

Position Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers, sales team members, brokers and operations as necessary to ensure that 100% of all customer orders are received, processed and shipped on-time
  • Coordinate with customers, freight brokers, and common carriers as needed to setup, ship, track, and confirm delivery and/or trouble shoot all outbound shipments to customers
  • Use EDI and/or online customer applications/portals to receive, process, ship and invoice orders
  • Maintain a database of customer routing and receiving policies and ensure that all outbound shipments are processed according to the respective customer requirements
  • Manage finished goods inventory across multiple third party warehouses throughout the country (enter orders into online third party warehouse systems, communicate with third party warehouse personnel, process ASNs and generally ensure all orders ship on-time and according to customer requirements)
  • Promptly and professionally respond to all inquiries by customers, sales team personnel and operations personnel
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Company exceeds all customer (retailers, distributors, etc.) expectations with respect to fulfillment rates, response time and general customer service satisfaction
  • Develop network of common carriers and freight brokers such that outbound freight per case or per pallet is equal to or less than targets developed during the Company’s budgeting process
  • Maintain product line specification sheets and assist the sales team in completing new item or new customer paperwork
  • Work with quality assurance to assure timely closure and communications on all complaints. Personally manage escalate and ensure sensitive complaints receive satisfactory closure
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Prior customer service and/or consumer affairs experience in a consumer focused food or beverage company is a plus. Candidate will need to posses ability to rapidly develop an in-depth knowledge of company products and business operations. The position requires team and individual leadership skills as well as a strong sense of urgency in all matters related to the health of the business. A proven track record of problem solving is expected.

  • Familiarity with EDI and the requirements of shipping to retailers and distributors across multiple classes of trade (ex: Target, Safeway/Albertson’s, McClane, etc.)
  • Experience shipping consumer products via common carriers (LTL, FTL, rail, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a company with an entrepreneurial non-structured environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel), and Internet-based research

Working Conditions

Position will be based in San Clemente, California. The Company is willing to consider a remote worker. Initially, the position will require 0% travel. Actual travel may vary up or down based on specific business activity and demands at any given time.
