What our advocates do

We invite YOU to partner with us to end hunger in America. We are currently looking for Feedvocates™ representing every state. If you choose to accept our invitation, we ask that you commit two months to getting the word out about our Feed the Hungry campaign through your social media platforms.

Every week you will receive correspondents, sample tweets, photos, messages, and up to date number of meals you helped us provide in your state. The goal is to encourage folks to go to Target and other partner retailers as we announce them to pick up a tube of FEED the Hungry gum for under $2.00 and help give back meals into their home state. Help us provide 1 Million meals and beyond!

Project 7 reserves the right to use the photographs and any media submitted for promotional and publicity purposes.

Why:   It breaks my heart to think that while I'm fretting over organic strawberries there are TONS of children who are going hungry and that needs to change, right? We may not see it on the streets like in foreign nations but we know it's a fact that childhood hunger is happening inside thousands of American homes.

Why:   Hunger everywhere should be important to everyone. The fact that necessities such as food aren't available to so many people is a major problem. So many know where every mean will come from and have a surplus of food, which is great, but we have to stop and think about those who aren't as fortunate as we are. We overlook the fact that many Americans can't simply walk to their fridge and grab a snack like we can.

Why:   Hunger is important all over the world not just the US. It pains me to see babies and children hungry and thirsty because their parents cannot provide due to loss of a job. It's good to help all over the world but we need to help the ones that are in our back yard first. Help adults to help their children also when they are hungry and don't take car of themselves this is how disease and an epidemic can start. No more dying!

Name:   Nancy Sandberg
City:   Bemidji
Why:   There is no reason any one should live hungry. We have enough resources to feed everyone, but there is so much waste and greed, and many would rather argue about why people are hungry than do something to change it. If people's basic needs for clothing, shelter, food, and water are not met, and all their energy id used just trying to accomplish that much, then how can anyone expect someone to participate in society? Too much energy is wasted on judging the problem rather than solving it.

About:   I am an artist turned scientist, currently applying to medical school. My passion is for people, especially the poor. We all need a little help sometimes.
Why:   Hunger anywhere is important to me, but especially in America. It's easy to think poverty is all far away, but it's everywhere. And the best place to start with a global problem like hunger is on your own block.
Name:   Sonya Pasia
City:   Scott City
About:   I am currently leading a Project 7 Chapter in Scott City, MO. I have been married 6 years, and we have a 5 year old bundle of energy (boy). I am a full-time pre-med student, and work 3 part time jobs. I went on a mission trip to Haiti, and it sparked my passion for helping others around me. I got back at the end of May, and I have been on fire since.
Why:   Hunger in America is important to me because food provides the nutrients needed for our bodies to function. Without food, our bodies do not function at optimal levels. The children are our future, and I would like to see that they have access to the necessary tools to help them advance as far as they can in life. Those children that are hungry, no matter the circumstance, should not have to do without. Everyone should be able to have access to the help that they need, especially children. Children are not able to fend for themselves, for the most part. It is horrible that there are so many that have to do without right now.
